what sean (aka ga_goosh) said.
when you introduce a new ring & pinion, you've introduced new components that have seen no load. plus, if you see the shims for the crush sleeves, you'll see that each ring & pinion will vary by that much, one from another. your present ring & pinion will have worn together at present backlash and pre-load.
you'll want to have the diff re-set up so your investment won't have been in vain. if you're going with weir performance's 4.77 r&p go ahead and add their awesome crush (not so crushable like oem!!!) sleeve and shim set too.
i plan to pick up their r&p as soon as things ease up with what i'm currently trying to get off the launching pad.

the solid pinion spacer is a must. cheap insurance, i have seen diffs fail because of this. keep in mind that your speedo will be off. you need to change out the plastic gear in your trans according to the tire size.
well brake check is always hiring\fred hass toyota in spring is hiring right now. i can ask around about a welding job i assume you are certified? all tig positions? theres a couple machine shops out in cypress that might be hiring.ill have to ask.

brake check hires at 10 bucks an hour for a general tech and after a month or so you go to commision tech which is 10 percent on brakes and front end 15 percent on everything else. average c-tech weekly is around $6-700.they hire with no u.a. just gotta have tools.they are always hiring.ntb is also hiring and they pay better than brake check.my little brothers buddy's a service writer at fred haas and tells me they are hiring also.
also if you hit up craigslist and houstonchronicle.com there seems to be a bunch of tech jobs in the auto section.
