what's the best oil & oil filter to use in our 86?

like what weight 10w 30 or 5w 30 full syn.? what brand castrol,valvoline,royal,eneos.....and filter to use? tnx.
any suggestion's.

Oil wise I would go with something more of like a Castrol GTX or Royal Purple as for Filter I would go with a OEM toyota filter. Those things are bas ass!!!

Same here... I highly recomend the OEM Toyota filter and I like Castrol and Royal Purple. I'm using Royal Purple right now

10w30 Castrol GTX & Wix oil filters always.

ive always had the rule of thumb that if u are above 150,000 on a motor to run 20w50 and if you are below that i would run 10w30 only synthetic the reason being once you reached that high of miles the thicker oil will take up some of the clearence that you lost in the bearing that is my opinion

Well I've always used 10w40 and USED to use Deutches from Auto zone which has interla valve and prevented the filter from draining...so when you started in the morning you get oil psi right away. Unfortunatley Auto Zone stop bringing them, so now I use FRAM Tough Guard then add STP additive for extra protection :?
