I was afraid that 2" would cause bottoming problems,even if the track was glass smooth(which they are far from up here)you still need to get through the paddock.Getting into/out of the trailer is easy to fix by transporting on tall tires.
I've done what you list already as far as picking the items,even did them in essentially the same order(puffs chest out in confidence

)
What I've decided is;
-Track and autox only
-Pretty sure it'll be the 20" tire(too many advantages over even the 21")
-Track width will be stock miata as I'm using the rack modded to correct
bumpsteer
-wheelbase is the only real item not nailed down,I'm still working on the
space requirements-I'm in the mid to high 80" range.Making the wheelbase a little shorter should allow me to get the rear weight a little higher.
-the engine is from an R1,mounted where the driver would normally sit and the driver sitting beside it making it RHD
-weight distrubution has me puzzled,I've driven and not liked mid engine cars so thought I'd aim for 50/50 but wonder if thats the right approuch for puttitng the power down.My gut tells me that my seating/engine placement will likely effect a rear weight of about 55%,I'm sure how close my gut is too right however.
