4age with edis on a budget
well everyone the edis project most come to a delay..
Found out tonight after i welded the edis trigger wheel onto the hermonic balancer.. i decided to crank the motor by hand ... what you i couldnt belieave but the motor was not turning over ... why ... well i pulled the spark plugs and there was water driping from the 4th plug and i never had water in the motor sense i rebuilt it.. yes thats right its a fully rebuilt motor...dont know where it came from i have some ideas but not full prove and thats a long long sore story.. so i am pissed depressed and upset that someone or something to cause the rebuilt motor to seize...
well ill be pulling it tommarrow so hopefully not to muach damage is done the the cylinder...
decidng if i should use my rebuilt ae101 silvertop bootem end thats been already set up to fit on the 16 valve or use the regular bluetop bottom end if its still good..

note to everyone: if there's a garden hose around and kids, cover up your ITBs!
i recommend the silvertop bottom to have the car up and running sooner and with less $ to spend AGAIN.

well stated working on the car again ordered some stuff from techno toy tuning... pullies, edis trigger wheel and vacume manifold..
the trigger wheel to crank ..

the trigge wheel mounts to the back of the hermonic balancer as shown.
the hermonic balancer is thinker around the woodrif key for less chance of brake away.
edis mounted on back is a shity enginering flaw in my opinion. first before you install the wheel and pully to crank shaft you want to take in mind you want to be able to pull back off again. so you have to remove the edis wheel bolts because there so long that they through to the other side of the pully where the pully puller bolts would go to pull off. so you must remove the bolts and cut them down little under a half way. because you need to beveal the edge so it dont catch the threads or spur up in the thrreads of the pully and the beveal you want a 40 degree angle is good. dont for get thread lock tight know.
then throw your lower and middle timing cover away ( not serious bout the throwing away part) but you cant use them with this set up. after cutting the hole to acomedate the pully thikness which did not bother me. the top of the edis wheel hits the timming marks and pusshes in the lower cover and also hits and pushers the lower part of the middle cover.
then next you need a hammer to bang in the lip of your oil pan due to the fact the damn thing rubs that two. i do give t3 the bennifit of the dout its in the instuctions it comes with. but damn this wheel hits everything.
after F-ing around with that now i was ready to modify the bracket i prevouisly made. easy dont like it but its a rough draft just to get the motor started ill fix it later..
the vacume manifold i wanted because i like assisted brakes lol. easy to install brake line hole was drilled straight through but it comes with a plug for the other side. only bad was they streched the truth about the purches it said the manifold came with vacume lines no it didnt. just the manifold and fittings. heres a quote "Price is $50 for vacuum manifold with ALL fittings and vacuum lines needed to attatch the ITB adapter to the vacuum manifold." also you can check your self heres the link http://technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=712" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; thank god i had vacume lines

U should of gotten the Nst pulleys that's were I got mine for th edis.

Well at the time i didnt know that there would be issues with the r3 wheel. and i already had t3 stuff on my motor so i wanted unifom order lol...
