i concur if it's just a small little area that's welded.
even if it a large area its still better than buy a new rear end and plus between it being at the top of the diff and you use silicon to seal the rear end so i think it should hold a seal

it's contingent on the welded area and who's handling that angle grinder/cut off wheel.
in due time....the rearend isnt a priority right now. i'll probably go to the parents house this weekend to give the engine a once over and see if i discover anything.
update:
took a quick look at it, and here are my findings:
I just want to confirm that the BT is a non-interference engine, right? hopefully if i can find a crank pulley, and line everything up, all will be goood.
which leads to my next point: any local 86'rs have a crank pulley they dont need?
