Well, GZE fell through on me. It didnt pass inspection. Crack in the block and a bent valve.

Jhot has a redtop with T50 right now for cheap. Im tempted to pick that up. Plus they are local. I really wanted GZE internals though.

the redtop has larger rods and a stronger block but ill doubt you'll be pushing the 3 rib block anyways. with the high comp redtop and gze pistons you would have a solid 300whp block with a good tune.

but if you dont plan on more than 10 psi i would just rock your stock block as it is the same as my 4afe and i pushed almost 12psi on that block with zero issues and a 13.5 afr with stock timing.

don't be surprised largeports came with the sturdier 7 rib bottom end. that was most likely towards the latter part of the 16v 4age series so it would make sense toyota would make use of existing stock. there's a good chance that the crank pin will measure in at 40mm rather than the sturdier 42mm in spite of the fact that it's a 7rib.

i also see tvis and i heard that only on the bigports.

so its probably a 88-89 4age 7rib bigport?
