do i need this

i lost the bolts for it and haven't found them yet. but i was wondering if i need this or if i can just cap it off.

in my opinion you need it to promote proper coolant flow through the head

thats what i thought. just wasn't sure. someone said it might be for the heater. do you know the size of the bolt so i can replace them and get her running?

if you don't need any of the sensors or a heater you can cap it off. you are also going to need to cap off the other side of the hose, it is on the back side of the water pump housing on the rwd 4ag next to the thermostat, unsure about the fwd. did it to my old 16v

bolt size is m6X1.0 length should be about 35-40mm check with a piece of wire then measure it.

those are thermostatic switches for the egr by the way.
