works just like stock. the whole tach electronics were changed over from the fx16. simple to make, i have a spare zenki gts cluster if anyone is interested, you would just have to find an fx16 cluster... oh and replace the oil gauge, the resistence broke. i believe you can use the oil gauge from an sr5 even.

i agree it is an inexpensive route but FX16s are few and far between.85levin wrote:i was planning on going with a digital cluster before, but, it still only goes up to 8000 and reads in km/h. to me this is a perfect fix for us cars reving past 8k and it is cheap.

Re: Getting ready for nst event!
thanks guys. pics aren't showing anymore. will edit my posts.
wet sanded and polished my car, looks a little better.
next off, i have a problem with tire rub on my right rear quarter panel. common problem with a lowered ae86 with tight wheel clearances, because of panhard bar angle. since i "have to" keep my wheels the way the are, there are 2 ways of fixing this: go with a watts link set up or reposition my panhard bar. i choose the second. because; it is cheaper, faster, lighter, and in my opinion better.
there is three ways i found to go about this:
1. make a higher mounting location on the body. bad idea it "hurts" handling.
2. buy a cusco rear roll center adjuster and weld it on. not sure how low it will drop my panhard bar...
3. cut and reposition my stock mounting position from the diff housing. shose this, "free" and i can position it where i want.
here is the bar. does not seem to be all that bad, but, after measuring i found the difference to be of 2 inches!
last time I opened my differential i replaced my cusco diff for a kaaz and installed it with a solid sleeve. since i am taking everything apart again i will paint the housing, rebuild my calipers, install ss brake lines and install a 4.77 r&p.
will start as soon as my parts arrive, hopefully this week. i have never done a write up, this will be my first.
