Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
and here i was thinking that a megasquirt would be in my future...im scared of it now!
Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
i really didn't think about it much. that is a great idea i will do that right now.
Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
don't be, all the info you get will help you diagnose any isues that you will have with any standalone. just imagine how much you would pay to learn all this stuff. UTI would easily charge 2,000, while here it is included in the diy kit which i payed just under 500 for it.
Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
this material is not covered at uti.
check that and let me know how it turns out.
also megasquirt can have issues so its not for the beginner. you just gotta work out those problems is all once it runs its good. ask will parsons. he has been using it now for a couple years.

keep adjusting the vr pots! you almost there. adjust while the car is running.being extremely carefull! keep an eye on the rpms. if they wont stabalize you can add a 10k ohm resistor too the white wire in the sheilding in the ign wire at the sensor or connector to help smooth out noise on the circuit then further adjust the pots after the resistors been add.
bad rpm signal will cause crazy missfires.look at your injector pulse width and watch it jump all over the place with tach signal.
p.s. dont drive on a bad rpm signal.idling is fine
also did you set the tune or did you upload someone else's msq?

also i cant stress the jumper settings. your issue sounds identicle to mine make sure the rpm signal input jumper is at vr and not at hall. i forget which jumper number it is and what position it needed to be in.but triple check it.
Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
yes, it is correct. i dont have a spark signal out of ign1
Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
is your tach signal correct?

it is still erratic.
Re: Megasquirt DIYPNP 56k stay away!
have you messed with the vr pots through out their entire adjustment range?
