drifting in austin...

Post by landslideATX »

what would you guys think about drifting in austin? would you be willing to come out to austin if we put on some events like 2-3 times a month? what if it started out on clay but would be later made into pavement? would you guys go for something like that? what if we were able to hold gymkana events without having to run from the cops? we have something we are working on out here trying to get setup. like i said it might start out on clay but when we show them that there is an interest they would be willing to put more money into it. let me know what you guys think. this is the first and probably the only forum i'll post this on. i know m.w. has events but its more for high powered cars. we are looking to make something for everyone. mainly due to the fact that i run an 86 and my friend runs a mr2. let me know what you guys think. we are thinking of having like 3 events a month. a drift clinic, drift practice, and then a drift comp. let me know what you guys think. i know most of you are thinking "clay/dirt wtf!" its a start. clay packs down just like pavement. its like driving on a dusty road. there is a track we are talking to but its an oval track. we may be able to hold gymkana on it but not full on drift events. so yeah, let me know guys.

thanks,
daniel.

i'm sure there will be people from houston and other texas locales that will come. dailydrifter will usually have 1 or 2 dd events up there each year. that's probably why you really didn't get much of a response.

yeah they don't do much for centrial and south texas any more so we are going to help them out with this. we aren't trying to step on any toes or anything. we are just trying to bring something for the people in central and further south. insted of having to drive all the way out to m.w. and risk the chance of something happening to the car or something and then being stuck 8+ hours away from home.
