Anyone here into BMX?

Post by CBR_TOY »

or used to be? race/freestyle/flatland?

i used to race in the ABA when i was 7-11 and loved it. We used to go to Armadillo Downs, McDowell Downs(non-existant now), Lonestar Nationals, and other tracks in Austin, San Antonio, and all over the state.

When my brother (Slideshow) and I stopped we were #1 and #2 in the state in the Cruiser class. I was #1 ha ha.... and also i was #30 in the 20" class and i think he was #50 or so

just curious if anyone used to/still does this or are interested?

i used to race both of these.....

my cruiser looked similar to this....

and my 20" looked similar to this.....

had friends growing up who were way into it back in the 20th century ;). hutches, pk rippers, redlines, gjs...lovely bikes. the friend with the hutch was big into it. beautiful gold on chrome w/ bare essentials: seat, brakes and shiny.

that's really cool that you and chris did well in the sport. i'm impressed.

Damn, thats rad!!!

I was into street & trails. I still have a Schwinn Pro Stock 2 Brian Foster edition that I use to ride many years ago.

Started getting back into it a few years ago but I'm to scared to do dumb shit anymore due to fear of breaking bones HAHA!!!

I've been thinking of getting a mountain bike lately :).

i used to, i ran a lot of dirt tracks when i was 11 during that time i got sponserd by fox racing but lost it after a few acidents, there was a sweet little place called 7 humps in south austin, just all dirt and you can make what ever kind of jump you want, the only bad thing was that a lot of hobos that lived here by the tree line,
the jumped up to freestyle dirt, then to street, after that i went on hyadis due to highschool and baseball, but now i just ride around the block and try to do what i can,

I rode for over 18 years...big into the old HUTCHs and Redline...I now haev a hurt back so i dont get to really ride any more. I still have my ELF xl, and my Killer "B" (prob one of the last in existance), we tried to break the frame on it and it would go so I have held on to it for over 10 years..

i've had a redline and a gt dyno freestyle bikes from the 90's. now i'm on a diamondback frame with a bunch of misc parts. i just use it to ride around most of the time, but mess around jumping gaps and stuff here and there.
