alright here ya go

so i used to own a coupe in 07 or 08 (i forgot it's been a while) then sold it b/c i wasn't working and the headgasket blew and i didn't have a single dime to fix it so it sat forever but got sold to a cool dude in town

then after a while i moved around for a while then came back to tx and started looking for a car wasn't sure what i was gonna get but then my love for the corolla took over again and luckily i found one in austin and this guy held the corolla for me for quite some time until i got all my $$ together then went and picked it up summer 09' (still appreciate you holding the car you know who you are)

the day after i got it i put it in the shop (don't have tools of my own)

but yea there were issues and some things i didn't like with it

for starters it was set up as a push start pretty much where the key goes into the ignition there was a button and in the center piece right before the shifter boot there were 3 switches and those turned the lights on as well as the car -___-

i hated it so i had someone remove all of that, then also there were no sun visors and in the texas summers it's hell on earth so sunvisors were a must (wish i had a camera at the time) i couldn't really take pics of that stuff goin on didn't really plan on making a build thread so i didn't care at the time but anyway

battery was also relocated to the rear in the hatch but i wasn't diggin that so had it relocated back to under the hood

umm what else a lot of the interior pieces were kinda cracked or sh*tty so over time i found pieces here n there and painted em

also had some sparco seats but they were sun bleached and i liked the gts seats more anyway so found someone in dallas and did a trade

im eventually going to get them reupholstered so soon enough they'll be looking a lot better

gradually interior started to look a lot better, i reupholstered the headliner with suede it came out really nice don't think i have any pics of that though but i can take some, also dome light wasn't working so i hit up the junkyard and took about 9 or 10 light panels until i got one to work haha

also in the process of putting interior pieces together there was a big mess of wires which seemed to be wires to the radio but the connectors were cut so i don't know why but some genius who owned this car at some point felt like cutting out the connectors :|

i still don't understand why but i cut some other connectors out of the coupe i sold to a friend so i started to mess with that (much thanks to him he knows more about wiring than i do, thanks david i deff learned a lot)

there's some progress the cd player works but theres also this issue whenever i press the brake pedal it cuts on the lights in the gauge cluster and lights outside of the car hopefully it's nothing too bad also at night when the lights are on and the cd/radio is on if i turn the lights off the sound to the radio cuts of -__-

also i tried to do the led gauge cluster swap but china sent me the wrong ones or something and they are a little longer than the ones i wanted fml so im still rockin the neon-greenish lights lol you can notice by looking at the 2nd one from the left it's sticking out

these are up for sale or trade only $25 if anyone needs them for something else maybe

umm what else, also when i got the car it had hood pins and a faded black or grey hood it was pretttttttttty sh*tty so i had painted another hood and put that on recently probably a month ago car is starting to look a lot better, also put some lowering springs on it in the meantime to see how it would look

Image

you can sort of see the fadedness of it

then the painted hood

decided to make some food inbetween

and here's the "better" look

also had issues finding the right oil filter and the 4ag ones NEVER fit then i came to the conclusion that i have a hybrid 4ag/4ac lol apparently the bottom is from a 4ac and the head is from a bluetop which is why the 4ag oil filter would never fit i heard this has been done before, but why? oh well i dunno but yea so that's also something i gotta get fixed sooner or later
