i've heard it's good to run because it gives the motor the low end torque it's supposed to have.... just hear say though.

is it disconnected or removed?

essentially, what happens with the tvis plate removed is the runners are all open thereby creating less velocity at lower rpms. power is there but higher up. the tvis plate acts similar to the way primaries and secondaries open on carburetors: progressively

you can undo a vaccume line underneath it and plug up the hole and itl leave all the butterfly valves open all the time and try it out for yourself.

yeah but that would hurt low end torque and not change top end at all

yeah tvis makes no diffrence above 4000 rpms it just makes the curve the top better when I dynoed my car it made a straight line all the way top the top no tvis cars make a really low line untill after 4000 then they climb to to power

well i took my butterflies completely out. i also took the vacume mechanism out aswell. i never started the engine up to find out what it did, (ran out of money for the car). :( but i was anxious to see what would be effected. i also cut the middle wall splitting the runners, that way it wasnt restrictive. How ever i do think this setup would have been better for a turbo app. but i decided to go na for a while seeing how i ran out of funds lol.

i pretty much made it a large port out of a stock motor.... lol
