Trust me you will find with the right amount of simple upgrades the SR5 and hold its own with the GTS. I mean a modded SR5 against the stock or alomost stock GTS.

like aftermarket 32/36 weber carb
BRDracing.com there header for the 4AC
strightpipe 2 1/4
schnider racing cam

all these for sure will keep you up with a GTS
Only on the internet could a man spend a lot of time and effort doing a high quality job only to have everyone rip him a new hole for not having the same exact taste as everyone else.

but a stock gts puts out approximately 94-98 whp unmodified.

if you applied the same modifications on a stock gts you'd already be faster. the SR5 starts at a lower level than the GTS. so mod for mod, it's obvious where one's money would be better spent.

yea true to each their own, as far as drifting goes i'd say for sure the 4ac wouldn't hold up needless to say, depending on your budget i would say should determine what you get and how fast you need it to be, also your skill level as far as drifting goes is an important thing as well, making a corolla hella fast to drift for someone who's skills aren't too sharp would be an accident waiting to happen (not saying you don't know how to drift) and sometimes for ppl whos skills are really high and have their techniques down, they need something faster to just keep up with other 300-400hp drift cars it all depends

good luck i hope you find what works best for you

Honestly If you really want to get it to like drift events then yea a swap would be best but if its like little meets and drifts around town then then yea the 4ac with those power mods will work. But if your looking ot go the easiest route possible with a swap then I would say a 240sx engine carbed. I think Dr.Occa posted something from a diffrent forum about it. I mean it can hold its own in a drift thingy. Just take drifting like this..Its not about speed not about style not about HUGE wings and body kits. Its all about having fun and getting a few friends togetherdoing something that instrest all of you. So go out there sir and have a ball!!
