Starting Problem (sometimes)

Post by fmedina »

Ok this has been going on for about a month now, but anyway sometimes the car will start and go like nothing... and sometimes it wont crank at all... it makes a weird buzzing noise, and it'll click... one time... thats it it clicks and buzzes... I can push start her and shell run fine but... any ideas what this could be????? :?:

^^^+1
take a multimeter to the batter (while the car is off) and check that you have 12v or near that.

also, your starter may have heat soak and might just need to be replaced if your battery checks out ok.

i don't have a heat shield either but drive my car everyday

i'd say check battery, alternator and the starter

my starter went out a couple of weeks ago and it would turn on fine then it wouldn't click at all and one day it was just dead and came on like a hour later so it was the starter for sure, good luck

heat soak is the worse. i run a heat shield and haven't had a problem since.

another option would be to introduce a relay like so:
