SP-400: Preserving your shelf parts for "posterity"

Post by dr.occa »

For those of you who have "rust-able" parts that you want to keep rust free. Pick up some SP-400 by CRC.

If you're in Houston and can't always make it to Grainger in time hit up Tri-Lumber off of Airline. They've been there for decades. Jerry there was kind enough to pick up several cans just because I mentioned 'em. He even gave me a courtesy call to inform me that they actually picked some up (Get Lowes or Home Depot to do that for you).

Spray wrist pins, rods, cranks and especially their journals, valves, springs etc...

Puts a protective off yellow transparent coating on your parts and solidifies. Has a nice smell too. :D

Washes off easily with an oil & kerosene mixture or what have you. Good stuff.
