What exactly is it that you're asking? Are you asking what better alternatives to use if any?
Re: Brake booster and master cylinder.
I heard of this guy fred flintstone that used his feet.....seems like that would hurt at high speeds.
Any way just grab you an OEM one and you should be good for another 15-20 years. As for tool and such. there is 4 bolts under the dash and a pin in the brake pedal arm that you have to take off. Take off the brake lines and your ready to remove it.

Yeah, the S13 master cylinder has gotten good feedback from others who've swapped over to it. It bolts right up but it'll empty your wallet.

true effing story! those things start at around 150 haha was thinking about getting one for my s13... but then though "who needs brakes anyways"

Re: Brake booster and master cylinder.
I just picked up one on a wholesaler closeout for $27-$30 shipped. It was a reman.
I picked up another one but used at the junkyard with reservoir for about $10-$15. The reservoir was still filled with clean brake fluid to the factory level.

What's the actual payoff to using an s13 brake booster and master cylinder as opposed to the factory ae86 one? And is it a mod worth the money?

I haven't vetted the swap from a "technical" aspect but from my own experience here are the beneficial changes I've observed first hand:rollinmunkey wrote:What's the actual payoff to using an s13 brake booster and master cylinder as opposed to the factory ae86 one? And is it a mod worth the money?
-cleans up the engine bay a little bit by doing away with the factory proportioning valve.
-when rolling my current project out (not running) braking was noticeably easier even without vacuum assist. The mc cylinder bore is slightly larger which may be contributing to this perceived ease.
The ongoing theme from others who've done this is also noticeably improved breaking response.

I might look into swapping that in then.. I could prolly find some pretty cheap due to the fact that I make up 50% of the ae86's around here (making parts and knowledge a commodity) but 240's are a dime a dozen.. Lol.. Thanks for the info, always love learning something new, like about that 1620 your running....
