Scion FR-S/Toyota 86...planning on getting one?

While I will not be getting a new one, I hope they do sell well and Toyota does flood the market with these. By doing so proves to Toyota there is a market for cars like this and hopefully will produce others. Also the more they sell it will be easier and cheaper to source one as they get older and swap engines n whatnot.... 10 years from now they should be under 10k and 2grs should be plenty cheap enough too.... 300hp v6 ft86 anyone??? Me please!

As one of the first in DFW to own an FR-S, so here is my $.02:

I have read that Scion is getting 10K units. The BRZ is a lower number as it is the "premium" version, maybe 2500 but neither number is official. I would worry about finding one this year more than seeing them all over the place. I paid an MSRP of $26,6ish and mine has the BeSpoke radio, clear bra, paint protection and rear floor mats. The fog lights, spoiler, arm rest and a few other accessories won't be available until maybe August.

As for the car itself, I have 130 or so miles on the Odo, and I am slowly working my way up to the red line so I haven't tapped the cars full potential. The balance is everything you may have read. The car doesn't roll, it just turns. The back end will move exactly where you want it to go, with the nannies off, or sit and push with them on. 6 speed manual is by far the best I have ever driven, short and percise. Clutch is short, progressive and not heavy. Easy to launch and forgiving enough that I would not feel bad teaching someone how to drive a manual on it. The boxer has an odd note that will take me some time to get used to but the sound gets better (not just louder) as the RPMs go up.

At the very least, it is worth a test drive if you can find one on the lot to try.
