Info on good, stable fabricators in the DFW (or anywhere!)

Post by dr.occa »

We have a colleague up in the DFW area who has been having a difficult time just finding an emotionally stable, level headed, professional fabricator who does what he says when he says he'll do it and is all about putting the customer(s)' satisfaction first. Basically a talented and humble fabricator.

If you know of any based on experience, trust worthy vicarious experience, word from a trust worthy source, yada, yada, yada...post it up for our community to read! Share your little hidden treasure trove of great shops and the men & women that make them great. No matter where you live and where they are, sing their praises here MEOW!

I dont recommend Jotech, too many bad stories. As for Cobb, they are some cool guys. I havent delt with them personally but if I need a shop I would go there. You could also try AWDtuning but I am not sure on their fab skills and there turnaround time from what I hear is a bit long. One place to try is NTX, they are good and they are in a new shop now with more toys! They are the guys I used to do all my head work for the 240 and the corolla. http://www.ntxmachine.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I like cars, food, and puppies.

Yep, for Aaron. He told me about an unexpected and uncomfortable situation with the current guy as well. He's running into a bad string of temperamental fabricators man.

That's a good idea. If this goes south I'll suggest autocomp to him if he hasn't already considered them. BTW, where's the link joel?

the solution is he needs to learn to weld. it doesnt take a high school grad to make a set of headers he has all the stuff. if he can run a bridgeport he can figure out how to tig.

as far as most fabricators being unstable is due to the lead poisoning from welding.(yes there is lead in filler rod.)

I already told Aaron the same thing: that he needs to learn to weld. He concurs but it's not high on his to-do list at the moment.
