86 Garage 4AGE Shim Bank...

Post by dr.occa »

Those of you interested in starting one up this is how it would work:

1. You list off the shim sizes you need and email the person in charge of the shim bank.
2. They respond with what shims are available.
3. If you want what are available then you agree to ship your shims in that will be replaced FIRST.
4. You pay for postage on shipping your shim cores to the shim bank AND for the replacement shims that you'll be getting.

Sounds pretty simple enough.

This is a bit of a socialist program with very little incentive (if any) to maintain. I don't hold out much hope for it.

So there ya go.

this could work but is the "bank" a physical thing and are there only a certain amount of people that have the bank? maybe im missing something or is it just who ever happens to reply with extra shims

also is the shim "bank" in houston lol i would rather trade in person lol

too bad it isnt like a coin machine that you put your shims in and it spits out what you need. that would be cool for the dealer parts depo but i know it would never happen.
