I'm just daily driving the car currently. I lost motivation to really work on it. I am completely lost with this cam/ignition timing with this thicker head gasket. One person tells me one thing, and then another tells me completely different from the first person. Also my trans is on it's last leg currently. No more 2nd gear and 3rd and 5th gear create a horrible vibration through the drivetrain. Still need to see if that "cam seal" leak is coming from the cam caps/valve cover in the corners. Then I need to get a new cat back exhaust since my muffler decided it needed another hole in it... because the ginormous end wasn't enough. I was supposed to have a trans shipped monday... and well it's the end of tuesday... still hasn't shipped yet.

I'm going to order main and rod bearings for the sr20 tonight, and put that back together. Going to take my electric fans off the corolla for the 240 once it's back up and running.

I might put the stock head gasket back in it for now, and see if that clears up my issues. Then again I might just drive the nissan until I figure out what I want to do with the corolla.

soooooo it's been a few seconds since I've posted anything with updates and blah blah blah. I seem to complain a lot more than what actually gets done... meh it happens. I can proudly say I do not want to burn my car down nearly as much anymore that hatred and turned to the 240.... so the 86 is safe now. Currently just waiting on a turbo manifold gasket for the sr20det. Also contemplating some upgrade parts for that. I'm still undecided though. bigger turbo, cams, valve springs, retainers, ecu, turbo adapter plate, etc for 1800... decisions decisions. All that puts the SR20 3-350 whp in a 240...SR86?! maybe.

Anyways on with a couple little updates and some pictures of course. I'm thinking about starting a damn blog with as much crap as I spew out from my fingers.... thoughts? haha probably won't happen, but it's the thought that counts right?

ok ok here's the little updates. If you read my last post I was being a *whispers* whiny little bitch... *cough* ahem...

Alright sooo I got that transmission a day after the drift event... I cried all day sunday...stay positive... stay positive. Started at 3 p.m. Sunday finished at 3 a.m. Monday. completely tore the transmission apart to clean it out completely. Sounded like bearings were trashed, buuuuutttttt that will sound like with roughly 2 pounds of dirt on the inside of the transmission.

Taking a short intermission break and will "edit" this due to uploading pictures from my phone to at least facebook then into here. I've been slacking HARDCORE. meh.

Ok pictures...

This was after about 2 hours of cleaning it up with Purple Power and Brake Cleaner

outside of the bellhousing before anything touched it. mainly to give you an idea of what it looked like. I didn't take a complete before picture of it but it was hardcore nasty.

Good friend that happened to have all the right tools for this job. Eric from Aguallo Customs (remember the name you'll see it again soon)
Image

counter shaft and half of the case cleaned up... I really just wanted to put a piece of plex over it just to hold together and put it on a wall.
Image

input/output shafts back in with a little oil to see if the bearings were truly gone or not. which thankfully they weren't!

OH HAI!!!! pretty much like new trans... yep... killer! LOVE IT! (super gay moment)

Also... My car is going on the Dyno-Jet Tuesday night we have here locally to hopefully get the cam\ignition timing spot on. Wanting to redo the intercooler piping in hopes of getting a better throttle response... not too bad, but could be better. Also at some point this fall/winter when I get some more research time I have a few other plans, and of course pulleys to up the boost. Although I'm waiting on doing the pulleys for a few reasons currently. I want to dyno it first get everything I have currently setup the best it can be setup to be THEN do a few more upgrades. I might be selling the 240/sr20 I'm REALLY undecided about the whole thing.

Also I am picking up another GTS only this one is a coupe with a locked up engine for $450 in a week or two just waiting for the title to get back to the guy after he switched it into his name. I still have my old 16v 4age... so that has found a home. My guess is I'll have ANOTHER spare head with this car I'm getting after I swap out the engine. So in due time I will know a little more about what I am doing with the 240. Currently just trying to get it back up and running.

For now there's a few updates and what's going on with the corolla. More will be coming soon.

I'm talking about the Escort RS Cosworth turbo motor - 300+hp stock and tried and true. Rally championship motor and it's what Yamaha/Toyota tried to replicate with their 4AG design. The 4AG is sometimes referred to as an economy version of the Cosworth.

Sick! Any pics? Those motors just rock. Hell, Cosworth developed an insane setup for the 2ZZ. If I had a 2ZZ I'd be saving for the Cosworth build.

I'd look for one used. Even one from the 1986 Mercedes 190E Cosworth would be a prime candidate.
