new computator

Post by hvguy »

My old one finally gave out... after 8 years of perfect service, and only 1 format... it finally took a shit. And thanks to microsoft not carrying CD's for anything older than 5 I wasn't able to recover it.... so I formatted it and put windows 2k on it. Now its strictly a shop computer.

But the good thing is that I bought a HP pavillion Slimline "s3500T" that they had on sale for independence day. it was 200$ off and a bunch of free upgrades. Ended up costing about 700$ after I got all the stuff I wanted in it.

Its got:
4 gigs of ram
500gb HDD
windows vista <--still getting used to it
Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 2.6oGHz 2.60 GHz... so thats 5.2GHz overall
15 in 1 mem card reader... how is that possible with only 4 ports?!?
512 NVIDIA Geforce 9500gs video card with HDMI and DVI outputs.. only
Wireless card
lightscribe cd/dvd burner... I just burned my first cd... and it looks badass
5.1 surround sound card
And its 1/3 the size of my old tower!

And thats about it.... but the best part...... I have a 1920 X 1080 HD plasma 42" to hook it all up to. With a little bose boombox that sounds like a theater.

I do believe this just enhanced my anime viewing by a factor of 10.

New technology is great!

already started saving for it.

Best buy has one that has a laptop type keyboard with a flat looking mouse, but the mouse doesn't have forward and back keys which I need. Oddly enough the keyboard my pc came with has keys that are 1/4 of the height of a normal keyboard... close to a laptop, but just a little bit bigger.
