Re: Rusty
Havent updated here in awhile...
As some of you know, this car was stolen a few months back. Apparently taken down some rough-ass backroads, because when I got her back, the car was FILTHY inside and out and the oilpan/underside etc was banged up (fuel and brake lines damaged). Fortunately, the old JZ took the beating like a BAUCE and still ran fine.
I now live in Fredericksburg and have a little shop, so this car is getting a complete body-resto(mod?). The body plan is a strip-down, some rust patch-up work, some stitch welding, primer and paint. Leaning towards white, but we'll see...
New color scheme?
I threw all the stock wiring in the trash. It's from 1977. Gonna build a brand new harness for the entire car (nice and simple though).
As far as drivetrain, I'm considering ditching the turbo engine and instead building a high-revving NA 1JZ. Headers, Cams, portwork, megasquirt, Ford 4.9 ITBs, etc. Lots of guys say "NO keep the Turbo!", but 250hp NA 6cyl with ITB response and sound would just fit this car much better in my opinion!
So watch this space! Lots of good stuff in store for this old Celica.

Re: Rusty
Ehh shouldnt be too bad, maybe a week. Just gotta round up all the new relays, switches etc that I'll need. I did my '55 Ford in like 3-4 days but it's carbureted.
