Yes.

The motor should be in tip top shape: fresh rebuild

Sensors all like new.

Harness gone over for any brittle areas and repairs or replacements implemented where needed. Improvements even to bring it up to today's standards.

Transmission rebuilt if it's already showing signs of less than normal dependability. If it's still performing at a consistently dependable manner than replace the gasket between the bellhousing and the transfer case oil seal with a flush and refill of syncromesh.

Flush and drain diff and refill with sever gear fluid from Amsoil.

Replace rear wheel bearings.

Replace front wheel bearings both inner and outer (easy peazy)

repack ball joints if still in good shape and have oil fittings. If not, replace lower control arm ball joints.

replace all rubber bushings with urethane bushings.

rebuild shifter by replacing gaskets and bushings.

tune up and install factory heat shields if you can find them or fab up some.

replace intake and exhaust gaskets.

recharge the a/c system.

basically, the car is 25+ years old. give it a new lease on life with new and improved factory parts and it will live another 25+ years or longer.

replace the in-tank gas pump with a bosch equivalent if available. I'd have a service hatch cut into the rear trunk area to more easily service the pump for future needs.

also, I'd probably convert it from AFM to a map harness.

^ thats kewl. Because I am actually picking up that AE86 that the guy wanted 7k for it lol.

Im not paying no where near that much.

But I do believe that the engine has been rebuilt.

I would love to start restoring it and making it look somewhat like your car and run as good as your car.

idk if you remember me jonas, I am marco I used to play with nothing but rotaries ( rx7's )
Now I am the family man and just need a toy aka cool daily. hahha

but thanks for the good info seriously.

Thank you

I daily'd a 320,000km GTS Hatch that I bought for $450 for a year. All I did was all fluids and an e-fan. Sold it running to someone and for all I know she's still running out there somewhere. AE86's have to be some of the toughest cars I've ever had, hence I had to go back to one :) .
The Projects:
87' AE86 Hatch (Dream)
90' EE Wagon (Daily)
11' Ruckus (Bike)

Congrats on the acquisition Marco. Just take your time with it. When we rush things is when things go wrong and we lose our patience, we lose sight of the goal and end up quitting.

I have another AE86 but with a 12A in it. I love it.

I DD'd the hell out of my 4ac till It couldnt move anymore. Not the best advice but It shows how well built these cars are. Now that I am 16v I still have no problem driving the car daily, I only barrow my dads van cause it has a/c and heat lol. I also love road trips with the car. When I was sr5 I drove from Dallas to San Antonio for 86 day 2010, and a few months ago I drove it to Houston to meet up with Jonas, will, and the guys for drifting. Spoil your girl and she'll take care of you
I like cars, food, and puppies.
