Good Shops in North Houston/Spring?

Post by BeanBone »

I have some issues to work out, and I'm hardly the most mechanically-savvy person out there so I'm looking for a good shop for the more complicated jobs. I live in the Woodlands area, so the further north the better.

Do you guys know any good people out this way?

Yeah, I don't have that Woodlands money, I live on the east side of the tracks ha.

Assorted things, really. Head gasket maybe, suspension work and alignment, etc.

I live in the Spring/Tomball area and I'm biased, but my choice is PowerFab. Known the guys for 6+ years, great service, and honest. Fantastic fabricators if you ever need any custom parts or welding done. Not sure about their current labor rates.

I have now current knowledge on FIST or Collins, but I know that The Awesome Shop is no longer around. NST has lots of experience with the AE86, but I haven't been there.

My .02 :)

Thanks. I sent an inquiry to PowerFab.

Right now my focus on engines. I'm looking at a rebuild of my JDM bluetop.

Anyone have experience with Joey's Engines? http://joeysengines.com/

Saw them in a similar old thread here. I put in an inquiry there too.

For machine work/engine rebuilds, I take everything to G&G Performance in Magnolia. It's a drive, but I think they may pick up or deliver too. Prices may be a little, and I mean little, bit higher than others. BUT, you get what you pay for and G&G is top notch.

I used to take stuff to a local shop not far from PowerFab, but the quality just wasn't the same.

You now have $.04 cents from me. Do what you can with it lol
