the purpose of all BMC Stoppers is to increase brake response by re-applying the force exerted by the driver on the brake cylinder back to the brake cylinder. this is done by reducing firewall flex that occurs as the brakes are applied. there are different methods of accomplishing this. NST's BMC stopper is a prime example of a practical means of improving the 86's brake response.
i've tested the initial prototype successfully and a more solid brake response is very noticeable on late braking into corner apexes. the NST BMC stopper pictured above is based on the success of its predecessor and improved upon in aesthetics, strength, weight and added adjustability to accomodate slight differences from one 86 to the next in regards to the exact location of the bmc. no two 86 chassis are exactly alike. it mounts to the strut tower using 10mm bolts in stock bolt holes.
anyway, i hope this answers some typical questions about the up & coming NST BMC Stopper.
the finished product i hear should be available in an anodized red and smoke grey. there may be a third color but i'm not sure on what it is.
it's taken a while for this to come around but it's been worth it.
*note: the NST bmc stopper is intended to work with the stock AE86 bmc.
from the mounting surface of the bmc to the opposite end is approximately 7 3/8" or 187mm.
for those interested.

Hey Jonas,
Thanks again for posting the pics and the great info. As always, it is much appreciated my friend.
For the record, this was one of Jonas' great ideas. He came to me with the idea and even a working, allbeit rough, prototype. I just took it from there and ran with it. So... THANK YOU Jonas!
This piece will go into production, exactly how soon and how low the price point will be, depends on whether we see some real demand from this community and the enthusiasts over at club4ag in the near future. So if you are interested, please speak up. Each stopper would be built using T6 aluminum and would then be hard anodized in red or gray.
Thanks a million for the help and support everyone!

NST is the only choice as far as i'm concerned who can execute specialized things like this.
for further examples, the brake cyl stopper was used in all the past gymkhana meets, late night "pursuits" through winding roads up north, several drift events, and grip attacks at the first and last Never Slo event at the old blimp hangar track near GGP.
the BMC Stopper did its job quite well.
and noooooooo, i don't get any sort of royalties so you can just cross that thought out of your mind.
i just want to do what i can to bring performance parts to the 86 community and NST has been more than willing to help enhance our beloved corollas with proven working aftermarket performance parts.
thumbs up on another quality NST offering.

TWO THUMBS UP. NST MIKE
Awsome idea! I always noticed this when bleeding brakes
I am wanting a booster delete in the future maybe you can help us booster-less-ae86's too , this looks like a easy fix for the thin firewall flexing without buying a expensive petal set
