hell yea, thats coming along nicely

I can't comment on the quality but I found some new handles here: http://www.torparts.com/Door-Handles-le ... andles.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It says they are "AE86 Restoration and Reproduction Parts Specialist.", but you might want to check if they're the right handles first.

Thanks man! We should be doing some more work this weekend.

Those were the only handles I could find as well so I'll have to dig around and see if I can find someone else whom has purchased them.

Well, they can't be any worse than the ones you already have lol. Let us know how it goes. I may need to replace one of mine too. Luckily its on the passenger side, so screw that guy.

Yea those prices are absurd but I don't really have an option.

I think 88 rotors sent me the wrong tie rods for the 86, the toe is insane. Is there a way I can test for sure if they are too long and is it both the inner/outers or just the outers that I can get wrong? Help me out here guys this is all that is stopping me from getting it on the street.

Have you gotten it aligned yet?

So you replaced the inner & outers? It's probably the right pieces, just not close to being right. I'm not sure if you have to adjust the inners or not, but the outers will need to be adjusted. In my experience, even if the inner is left in tact, and the nut kept in place, the car still needs to be aligned when the outer is replaced. I bought the lifetime alignment through firestone and have definitely got my moneys worth out of it.

I started adjusting one side but it didn't even get close to zero.

I replaced the inners/outers with brand new pieces and I requested power steering versions of them but the guy I ordered them from seemed confused.

Compare them to your old ones. If they're the same size, it's probably just an alignment issue.

Got to the garage today and got the rack fixed and alignment dialed in enough to get it to a shop for a proper alignment.

Also did some wet sanding to get it ready for the final coat of primer, should get some more work done tomorrow and I'll try to post some pics.

Finally ordered some bash bars this week, they should be here next week sometime.

Got the front end painted black so it won't look bad when when the front bumper is on, we also found a major fuel leak when I started it up to drive around the apartment complex(and fixed it). bled the brakes some more and got them feeling nice and firm when they are applied. As of now it's up to my friend to lay down one more coat of primer and wet sand it to perfection and it's road ready!

As I was driving it around the complex I noticed that it has almost no power since installing the 272 cams, I'm going to check timing one more time and if that doesn't present an issue I'm going to need someone's help to figure out what the hell is going on.

Now for a picture of the front.

Got the whole thing wet sanded last night and it's now ready for the last coat of primer IF my paint guy get's off in time otherwise we will have to wait til it warms up a bit before we can spray it.

I've been trying to figure out how to keep the 15x10's on the front and I think I can adjust the caster enough that it will allow me to run them for the time being, we will have to see how it works.

Checked timing on the engine yesterday just to make sure and it's dead on, played around a bit with the distributor and TPS to see if I could get it to run better and it still seems very hesitant. The only thing that seemed to change how it ran was the screw on the air flow sensor seen in this picture. My question is what is this called and where can I find information on how to dial it in?

it's the idle air screw... screw it in and less air bypasses the afm for idle, screw it out and it allows more air to go around the flapper door and raises the idle... there is also one on the throttle body itself. if you have bigger cams, take the black cover off the afm, there is a gear that's held in place by a keeper. if you rotate it clockwise it will richen it up, counter clockwise leans it out. use a screwdriver to keep the gear from free moving when adjusting, it is sprung and has tension! I use a flathead stuck in the teeth to keep it from getting away from you. I had mine adjusted 2 teeth richer in my car and it loved it.

Excellent, I bet this is the issue. Thank you sir!

One more question since I keep reading conflicting stories, do you or do you not require adjustable cam gears for 272 cams?

Cams differ from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some companies have the center alignment built in so they're "drop in" pieces. While others need to be properly degree'd which require adjustable cam gears. They'd be worth having and just getting the cams degree'd just to be sure.
