DIY: Quick-N-EZ PCV / Oil Catch

Have a step-by-step guide you'd like to share with everyone or are looking for one in particular? Well, this sandbox is just for you then.

This is a kitty-free sand box by the way.

Threw this little PCV/Oil Catch together using readily available goodies.

#1 2x 2" PVC threaded cap
#2 2x 2" PVC flush cap
#3 2x 2" PVC threaded coupler
#4 1x 2" PVC pipe cut to 2" length
2x stainless steel scouring pads (a 3 pack of Scotch Brite Stainless Steel Scouring Pads for less than $3)
2x 90* 3/8" brass fittings
and PVC primer and cement

No drain port because the bottom easily screws off and you can not only drain the accumulated oil but also keep things tidier. Also the threaded flush caps on either end facilitate removal, replacing and/or cleaning of the ss scouring pads and again keeping things tidier.

One could always easily tap the bottom for another fitting to plumb in clear tubing to an auxiliary oil catch. With the clear tubing you can see the level if the auxiliary oil catch is full.
