This is the 1st time out this year with the new engine, its running way rich so it wasn't pulling very well at all on top so I was short shifting.

Have a look and enjoy,it sounds not bad(if you listen you can hear the engine sound change when rich)

Yep 4agte,kinda different though in that its carbed not injected.Built all the manifolds etc etc myself, used a td04 from a wrx.Bottom end is a 20v(oil sqirters)with 8.0cr gze pistons, freshened up big port and bluetop cams,3" downpipe blah blah blah. :)

Close, yamaha RX1 sled carbs.Same engine as the R1 bike but different carbs, mostly mounting angle and slight differences in bore sizes.

Thanks,I think the dizzy was actually a 3tc unit-shouldve got the 4k one. This one needed TONS of fab to make work, involved pulling both this one and the 4ag one apart and swapping shafts, bodies and gears along with machining to put it back into what you see here.

Thanks,it'll run much better soon.

I have to swap in a set of smaller jets I have on hand to try, hopefully that nails the afr on the top end.I'm only running 8lbs as well,I think I can go to 12 or 14 safely and make hp in the mid 200's-should make the sub 1800lb car move quite nicely I expect.

How do you overcome adding extra fuel when the boost increases during takeoff? Or does it just run rich while in the low RPM's.

I'm using a Malpassi fuel pressure regulator from italy, designed for carbs and boost. Its basically just a rising rate fpr and so far seems to work pretty well, most of the carb'd sleds and bikes running turbo kits use this regulator.

yes, rising rate fpr is a turbo'd carb's best friend.

8 psi sounds about average on what the solex/mikuni flat slide & side draught carbs are able to take without being sealed.

good work on that kevlar.
