Post by hvguy »

Has anybody ever tried em? Looks pretty close to the greddy package minus the adjustable shocks and new spindles.

Comes with front and rear springs, rear adjustable collar, front adjustable collars, steel tube that has to be welded to your existing spindle, 2 front and rear shocks plus the adjustable camber plates.

8KG fronts, 6KG rear.

For only 819 obo plus 59$ S&H.

Retails for 1050. http://www.meganracing.com/products/pro ... 5&catid=93

Sounds like a good deal to me. 8)

Ah, that looks nice. I might get these instead of the greddy's and use the spare money for 4links.

actually i change my mind to getting Megan coil overs again watching videos i see no diff in body roll they look just as stiff and also have 32 damping levels as well. i have went over at least 5 threads thoroughly and the spindles and name are like the only diff and yes greddy is Japanese BUT they are both made in the same factory in Taiwan and that's a fact. so basically using the stock spindles plus the brand name that alone knocks off like 600 dollars which u could use on t3 4 links and a panhard bar. hey some people prefer to pay that much more for the name but i could easily pay $100 to have some1 weld the old spindles on instead of pay 600 more to have it done already which the greddy coil over guys make it seem like its such a huge step and u will die over it. if i had money to throw around which i don't i would get the greddy for the hell of it but i want something where i get more bang for the buck so their ya have it.

if the megans were around 200-300 I would consider them but for that much money I rather buy the greddy setup. soooo much more adjustability at just a little bit more price. Not to mention I would get a 4 link and panhard before I even thought about springs/shocks. I would also get a manual rack and pinion with the t3 extreme turning radius adaptors.

yeah the megans dont have 32 levels of adjustment. They also dont have the same dampers as the greddys which is why they cost less. Also the amount of body roll has little to do with how good the setup is

What makes a setup good? I thought that was up to the driver. :?

Its a combination of the two. You can have a average driver and a insane car and have a good drifter. Or you can have a average car and a great driver and have a good drifter.

I drift for the fun of it and IMO neither suspensions (Megan or Greddy) provides what 4 link and extended steering angle provides.

But if I already had those mods and I was going for a full suspension setup I would think twice before I paid 800+ dollars for a setup that ISN'T the best out there. The reviews for the greddy setup sell the suspension. The amount of quality in the greddy product makes me have no doubts in a suspension choice on a ae86. I rather ride stock suspension or double spring welded suspension before spending 800 bucks on a mediocre suspension, even if it gets the job done I'd be unhappy knowing I spent that much while still not having the best.

i do understand that but it is kinda stupid saving 600 more dollars on my side just because of a name and spindles. its so hard making money the only thing i have as of right now is mowing my lawn for 20 bux front and back. and yes they do intact have 32 damping levels i have personally asked Cyrus myself who is sponsored by megan and runs the setup himself here are the specs.

- Spring Rates: 8kg Front and 6kg Rear

- 32 Levels of Adjustable Damper

- Pillow Ball Upper Mounts.

- Rubber Dust Covers.

- Adjustable Ride Height

- Aggressive Spring Rates

- Single-Cylinder Design

- Aluminum Brackets

32 Levels of Adjustment:

1-8: Suggested for track use.
9-16: Suggested for mountain/aggressive use.
17-32: Suggested for common street use.

Cyrus had a bunch of sponsors and i have seen the Megan coil overs preform very well on other cars. i guess what i am trying to say is you dont need the best to be the best for ex their are many famous drifters that tear it up on the track and not every1 uses the greddy coil overs. with the megan coil overs i could upgrade other suspension components on my car and have an excellent setup. the only reason i said i wanted greddy because i didnt know that the megans had 32 damper levels like the greddy when will told me they didn't. but yes will the megans actually do so it is basically the same exact thing with diff name and no spindles.
