dude.... thats the plate welded to the outer collar.

Remove the bolt and pull hard. Be sure to wear a helmet.

if you mean the locking mechanism for the column i would keep that

i plan on doing other stuff like removable steering wheel and hidden kill switch and stuff later on plus the only time i take it out is to meets and events and im always next to it and it stays in the garage so im not worried about it being stolen plus ima get a dd soon like in 4 months.

Its still a good idea to have a wheel lock... since you probably wont be using your locks.

if you wiggle it a bit and then jerk around with it in your hand (kind of like the guy on office space at the start of the movie) if ound helps get it off.

i tried doing it today or yesterday i guess u could say and i say on it for 20 min yanking on it and jumping i was going to tie a cable to it and put it through the hatch andthen tie it to the 4 runner and floor it.
