any idea as what it can be, i already check the dizzy, and its at its lowest any more i deas, thanks
ps there a sensor that can be adjusted that is located by the intake, can this be it?thanks

checked my vacuums everythings seems good/connected,forgot to mention that my timing belt broke/ripped so i switched it out.its running fine now just a lil high, it use to be the ame way before the belt broke
aslo the idle is at 2100
aslo the idle is at 2100

a bottle of windex is helpful, i normally spray down around intake manifold gasket seals, tb seal, vacuum hoses. if it idles down you have found the leak. if all else fails you can try adjusting the idle with a flat head I believe on the Throttle body. Its just rare to see a 4ag idle that high from mis adjustment. I don't remember if the 4ag has a idle air control valve, those are normally the problem for a honda. I would also start unpluging unvital sensors like coolant temp, tps sensor to see if their is a change in the idle. If you can't find it out let me know I can stop by on my way to work sometime and give it a look over.
thanks ima check that up,hopefully it idles down, if it dont work ill take it to y house in spring cuz its not over in the houston area but ill lyk ill check those sensors, also where is the fuse to the horn? my covers are gone and have no idea

Do you have a timing light? let it warn turn everything off ac, radio, lights use paper clip short circuit drop the rpm and check the timing. Then remove paper clip set idle at 800. See what happen
The sensor near intake is for the idle when AC is on.
It just happened or you just got a car and it came like that?
It could be a TPS sensor. It happen to me before. I clean the TPS and work fine now. ( You need a multi meter to re install the tps sensor tho)

ill try this but where do i put the paper clip?

yea i bought the car, and it wasnt running, when i got it run..it was like this,my belt broke while it was turned on...could my valves get bend or something

What year is your car ? 85 or 87 ?
if 1987 go with this write up
Check that the ignition timing is 10° BTDC. Start the engine and make sure that it's at normal operating temp--wait after the radiator fan runs. Short terminals "T" & "E1" at the diagnostic connector that's on the left strut tower. It's black and is labeled "DIAGNOSTIC" on the cap, duh! =) You'll know if you properly shorted the terminals if the idle speed drops a little. Bust out your timing gun (er, light) and point it at your eyes, whereupon you will be placed in a trance; you will now be at the mercy of others! Now, you're ready to check the timing. Point it at the crank pulley, depress the trigger, and peek through the accessory drive belts. The TDC (top dead center) mark on the crank pulley should be at the 10° mark on the left of the 0° mark. The timing marks on the left of the 0° mark are BTDC, or advanced. Conversely, those on the right of the 0° mark are ATDC, or retarded. Loosen the two 12 mm bolts that hold down the distributor onto the head. Slowly turn the distributor assembly depending on where you want the timing to go. Play around with it and you'll get the timing on 10° BTDC. When you're done, tighten the 2 bolts and recheck the ignition timing. Remove the wire that you used to short the diagnostic terminals and further check the timing by making sure that it is more than 16° BTDC.

i tried the black one, it has like 3, and it died once i did it, must no be it, i also tried the nrown and nothing i will recheck, what sensor could it be?thankspecx wrote:It's the one with 2 pin. The brown one I guess ( Mine doesnt come with the cap) short that terminal you must notice the drop of RPM. If it doesnt drop the RPM something wrong. Check TPS sensor.
ps i will check that tps
