Re: junk cars
that's a tough one. you can easily purchase a manual rack. where you're hard pressed is the longer steering knuckle. if you can cross reference toyota parts in reference to the steering knuckle, you may be able to find another toyota vehicle that uses the same knuckle. possibly one off of an aw11 or te7x model. could even be off of an early 80s tercel. i can't say with certainty at this point.ga_goosh wrote:lol ok how much does it cost to find this out. i just want manual steeringdr.occa wrote:what!? you gotta offer up some money for that hard earned info man!ga_goosh wrote:has anyone been to the yards lately and know where a te72 is? i dont have the time to go yard shopping. so i would like to know where one is before i go. thanks
Re: junk cars
yea i am going to just use the ones i have my power steering knuckles for more angle i just need the rack. i have the u joint and intermediate shaft from the mkIII as well but i dont want to use the aw11rack i would rather use a te72 or a kp61 rack. from there i would use my inner and outer tie rods from my power unit untill i get more money for new megan or moog tie rods. i have done my research all ready i just need parts nowdr.occa wrote:that's a tough one. you can easily purchase a manual rack. where you're hard pressed is the longer steering knuckle. if you can cross reference toyota parts in reference to the steering knuckle, you may be able to find another toyota vehicle that uses the same knuckle. possibly one off of an aw11 or te7x model. could even be off of an early 80s tercel. i can't say with certainty at this point.

Re: junk cars
yeah, i found a manual rack out of an sr5 86. what a total rare find at pick your parts. it was a couple of years ago. anyway, i pulled it and just ordered a brand new one and used it for a core return.ga_goosh wrote:yea i am going to just use the ones i have my power steering knuckles for more angle i just need the rack. i have the u joint and intermediate shaft from the mkIII as well but i dont want to use the aw11rack i would rather use a te72 or a kp61 rack. from there i would use my inner and outer tie rods from my power unit untill i get more money for new megan or moog tie rods. i have done my research all ready i just need parts nowdr.occa wrote:that's a tough one. you can easily purchase a manual rack. where you're hard pressed is the longer steering knuckle. if you can cross reference toyota parts in reference to the steering knuckle, you may be able to find another toyota vehicle that uses the same knuckle. possibly one off of an aw11 or te7x model. could even be off of an early 80s tercel. i can't say with certainty at this point.
