It seems that finding an OEM replacement dash is going to be near impossible unless you are willing to shell out some serious coin. Aside from a replacement dash cap, what other alternatives are out there? Bondo-ing? Fiberglass?
If you have done something, I would like to see pics of your work.

Re: Replacement dash alternatives
I pulled the dash off my ae92. Bondo'd a few spots to make it smooth then sanded and put black spray paint on it. It turned out pretty good and if you do your coats right it comes out nice. I've seen the foam torn off of an 86 and it didn't look bad really. It was cheap as hell, and you can always cover it like in Morgan's post later if you want. When I piece my 86 back together I'm tearing all the padding off and just going to rock bare bones for a while. Not sure if I'm going to bother with paint or not this time.

Re: Replacement dash alternatives
I just went with this. As you can tell by my response in the thread.
Re: Replacement dash alternatives
How did it turn out? Kind of looks like a floor mat in those pics lol. I wish I had pics of the dash I painted. It came out pretty good.

I may have to go that route until I can work something else out, but my dash is FUBAR.

Re: Replacement dash alternatives
imo it looks better with all the crap torn off than it does with it on. It's best to pull the dash off completely though so you can get to all the stuff and make it clean. I think the 86 dashes are a lot smoother than the 92.

Re: Replacement dash alternatives
iv seen a rubberized repair job. you fill the cracks with some urithane adhesive sand it smooth then paint it with rubberized bed liner from a spray can. i have been in the proccess of doing this but time is scarse and this isnt really on the top of my to do list. I guess ill have to make a 86g write up when i get done with my dash. i found the diy dash thread but none of the pics work. http://forums.club4ag.com/zerothread?id=52963 karatecrimson from c4ag used bondo and he said it didnt turn out well :/
