New car trailer and winch

Post by hvguy »

Finally finished restoring my car trailer.... that used to be a trailer house. And I happened across a warn M8274 "fastest reel speed winch" in the junkyard. Bought it, and now im restoring it to go on the trailer for disabled cars.... just because I have a gut feeling im going to be rescuing alex on more than a few occasions when his 70 year old vw spins a bearing or just doesn't start.
And conveniently enough, somebody had 4 trojan golf cart batteries on craigslist for 125 for all 4. But I talked em down to 100 even. These go for 145 apiece new. And these are only a year old, and have been cycled all the time.

So.... at about 480 a/hrs I could winch all day. Or atleast until my motor burned up.

The trailer is thankfully 22ft long..... barely long enough for a ae86 and FC

Look on craigslist, theres lots of good deals out there.

I just bought a 150ft of synthetic winch cable/rope. And an aluminum fairlead.

Repo jobs should be fun.
