Unknown 20v bracket and ae111 header question

Post by aj.hudson »

Going to be replacing the front motor mount with the one from my 16v mr2 and it doesn't have the same provisions for this bracket/brace... Who knows what it's for?

Also would it hurt or help to remove these baffles in the stock header?

I'd leave them. Most likely they're there to encourage more of a venturi flow of exiting exhaust for better flow and better performance based on the way they're facing. I'd leave them.

wouldnt be surprised if it had to do with a fwd engine mount/bracket. i remember taking a whole bunch of fwd bracket stuff off of my engine from that area.

It bolts to the top of the front fwd engine mount. There's not one on the 16vs. And it looks kinda pointless for additional bracing.. Thought it might be for something else weird haha.
