Wife's build... '77 Fairlady Z

Post by Thomas »

My wife had been wanting an S30 for awhile, so we picked this one up in Austin. Really clean shell with nice interiour. Needed brakes and an engine, so she did a rear disc conversion using 240sx calipers and Z31 Rotors. For the engine she picked up a good running S14 KA engine with 5 speed transmission.

At the moment, brakes are just about finished, and engine is bolted in. Next is trans mount, plumbing, wiring, etc.

Pictures!

Ok so I'm starting on the exhaust now. I ordered a Pacesetter cat-back for a 280Z, now I need to find a set of headers for this S14 motor. Anyone have any recommendations for KA24 headers? Anything cheaper than OBX but still good? I want the long headers (with the downpipe).

Any reason you guys wanted a ka? I have a deep love for L28's so I'm just curious.

She bought the car with no engine or transmission, and the KA was a cheap option that's fairly reliable and common. She bought the motor, trans, harness and ECU for $200. If this car had still had the L series, we would have kept it.
