those of you that are with me on fb know this, lattanzi, mckinny, the CO guys, but the rest may not. 87 this time (damn it!) im a zenki guy........anyway. time capsule car, been sitting in the back of a barn type building since 2001. weird car to say the least, it had shelby swastikah looking factory wheels, gts car, gts vin, but has sr5 interior except for the cluster.........manual mirrors, but full gts body and drive train.

guess its time for a coupe part deuce build. pics to come, yes i have some but they truly suck.

oh yeah, out of 6 86's ive had, i finally have a sunroof car...and it works, and dont leak =]

the day i got it......unfortunatly i had to trade my truck for it, but c10 chevrolets are everywhere.....gt-s clean ones at that....not so much.






an URAS numukin kit, zenki eyelids and corners, re-installed the louvers (which the previous owner ripped off and had sitting in a scrap metal pile) changed up the wheels, cut 2.5 coils off the springs, spaced the hood, and started sanding that dredful rising sun off the hood from the preious owners kid.

a little history on the car.......

the car was last registered in 2001 by a 56 year old women in a town 17 miles north of me. she passed away later in 2001 unfortunatly. when she passed her father soaked up her estate, the car was part of it. so the father parked the car out in a tractor shed on the property, and left it there in thinking one day, it'd be a good first car for one of his grandchildren.

fast forward to 2009, the father passed away, and the son, last remaining sibling soaked up the fathers estate. he took possesion of the estate, and made it his own, as in moved into his fathers home. this corolla still sat in the back of the tractor shed untouched. fast forward to early 2013. the grandchild turns 15, and has his learners permit. so they go out to the shed, and look at the corolla..........

they attemp to start it, no go. they drain the gas, removed the fuel sending unit, thinking it was an easy access to the fuel pump, then i guess laziness consumed them.

so.....

my friend calls me. our conersation goes as follows:

richard: "dude, tell me you have $1100, if you say no, im coming to brain you in your living room...."
me: "well f*ck no, why?"
richard: "seriously?"
me: "no, why"
richard: "87' gts, black on black, coupe, been sitting in a barn since 2001, strait body, complete car"
me: "why you gotta do this to me?"
richard: "because you needz another 86"
me: "damn man, i really dont have it"
richard: "you f*cking suck"


then theres a long silence as you can smell both of our brains burning 59 miles apart. i break the silence..

me: "how red is this guy?"
richard: "it glows son..."
me: "would he be interested in an 81' c10 stepside 350/350th with a 5/8 drop and shaved project?"
richard: "thats very possible"
me: "needs a carburater, thats it"
richard: "lemme see"

we hand up. i send richard a pic of the truck. 3 minutes later my phone rings from an unfamiliar number.

owner: "can you get the truck here?"
me: "tonight"
owner: "where you coming from?"
me: "jasper"
owner: "are you down to trade"?
me: "ill see you tonight"








having only $900 in the truck..... and pushing it off the trailer, and driing the gts on.......i definitly came out on top.


funny thing is, when i bought this truck and droe it home, i told my wife, "this truck is gonna get me another gts, because thats the only way ill let it go." funny how coincidence works out.

so..... so far i dropped the tank, drained it, put a few scoops of river rock in it, and bought 8 bottles of rubbing alchohol from the dollar general, dumped it in the tank, and presisted to shake......after 30 minutes of home made vatting and tank revival, dumped every thing out, poured 4 more bottle of alchohol in it, to rinse it out, and let it evaporate in the sun for 2 days. replaced the sock on the fuel pump, and reinstalled the tank.

replaced the fuel filter.

changed the oil.

turn the key, and she fired right up, knocked for a second and then cleared right up.

installed a fuel sending unit from richards parts gts, and it reads just fine.

now just waiting for some more funds to replace the 225-60-14's on the supras with some 185-60's, and she'll be on the road.

POS has been gone......its in knoxille somewhere now. got tired of ecu gremlins, and after the 4th ecu, i got tired of messin with it, and ima cheap bastard, not paying $800 for an ecu for a '93 model car that wasnt in that great of shape.

sold it for $2200 w/ the staggered 18x9/18x10's, junction produce goodies, JICmagic coil overs, and sound system. when it left me, it poured oil out of the drivers valve cover, needed 2 new RUCA's, both front tie rods and ball joints.........

officially mounted the side skirts today, threw on some 185-60's my nephew gave me, cleaned all the dealer caulk off the back window, 3m taped the louver tabs, washed it, and spray bombed the kit......

today i did a 5 minute 4ag tune.

small port cam gears, remvoed the clutch fan, adanced the exhaust cam a tooth, and set the timing back to 10-11 degrees.

shes a rev happy screamer now =]
