SPOILER ALERT: we don't get to see the hatch vs coupe battle in episode 14.

Right now, there are no more episodes scheduled to air monthly like they have been. I'm thinking that they will try to make a short animated movie similar to stage 3 because they just can't leave the series hanging off like that. Plus I think that there is more to that coupe kid that the fact he drives a coupe. The similarities to Takumi are definitely eerie. I would also like to see if Takumi goes pro and maybe race in the N2 circuit with all the other hardcore hachiroku guys. Fingers crossed.

Jay I think you are right. I too think it will be a movie battle stage strictly on Takumi and Shinji

Yep, they can't just pull a "the sopranos" on us and cut to black. I do think it will take a while though, the episodes basically caught up to the manga so they have to come up with enough material to make a movie/episode etc.
