Old school 86er
Old school 86er
Whats up! Been out of the scene for many years with kids coming along, but I have a bit more time lately so I thought I'd pop my head back in and see what this place was about. A couple of buddies pointed me here and it's been useful since I was able to pick up a few parts to get my car back up and going. I've owned a few 86s in the past and I remember flying to Atlanta for my first one to drive a clean 85 hatch back home to Houston way back in 2003. Back then I was mainly doing autocross/track events and picked it up with the intention of doing just that, but a friend of mine introduced me to drifting and I soon got hooked with that. A few crashes and a few mods here and there and here I am today. Nothing special to tell, really.

Welcome to 86G @John
Re: Old school 86er
Yes. Are you getting back into drifting? I'm sure you're busy but, I'm trying to a get a group together to go out to Texas World Speedway for a NASA track day in early October.
Re: Old school 86er
Yeah, I'm working on the car, but I'm not sure if it will be road course ready by then. I'll have to see how much work I'm able to get done to it as time goes by.
Re: Old school 86er
Once a few more of us start getting our cars running, we need to start doing events again. If things stay on track I should have a well running car next year. Not sure how long after that till it's street legal though.
There are no spare parts, only unfinished projects.
