Its hard compressed carbon in the pillow socket. You can see here on mine. Its the black area.

......... carbon fiber race, PTFE lined. The load rating of these is lower than many others on the market. They aren't all that great IMO.


Compare to these:
FK rod end: JMXT - 10 (17,959 lb)
QA1: XMR10 (17,955 lb)
Aurora: AB10T (17,955 lb)

Sure, they're more expensive. But more than 2x as strong, and chrome plated ball instead of zinc plated so it wont rust/pit/wear out anywhere near as fast.
